This Saturday and Sunday, October 27th and 28th, Memphis RiverArts will be celebrating 34 years of bringing art to Memphis in a new home, Riverside Drive between Jefferson and Beale. From 10 am to 5 pm Riverside Drive will be home to over 180 artists from around the country giving hands-on demonstrations, exhibiting and selling their original works of art. This event has become the largest outdoor juried artist market and street festival in the Mid-South. For a $5 admission price (children 10 and under are free) you can see artist at work, hear great musicians, shop some amazing vendors and eat some great food...you can't beat that! And this year there is an added bonus; the lighting of the Mighty Lights on the Hernando Desoto Bridge! We have seen the Mighty Lights illuminate Big River Crossing and now they are going to be on display on our iconic M bridge as well! In celebration of this, the festival will be offering free admission after 5 pm on Saturday so you will have the best view in the city! Starting at 6 pm there will be a Mighty Lights Parade lead by the Lucky 7 Brass Band. Create a bridge hat or costume and win a chance at free food and drink at the festival! If parking is an issue, they have you covered there too. Explore BIke Share is offering free weekend passes at their website, so park the car and experience downtown at a slower pace!
