If you are looking for an old-school breakfast dive have I got a place for you! Bryant’s Breakfast has been serving up some of the best food in Memphis since 1968. Located on what many people refer to as the “Food Mecca of Memphis”, Summer Avenue, Bryant’s serves the kind of breakfast your Grandmother used to make. Soft, fluffy, melt in your mouth biscuits coupled with thick cuts of country ham and bacon fried to perfection. Or maybe eggs are more your speed. They have you covered there too, whether scrambled, fried, or their incredible three egg omelet you can’t go wrong. Or maybe you are craving a sweeter breakfast. Banana-Strawberry, blueberry, chocolate chip, Nutella, pecan and even BACON pancakes are served hot off the griddle with maple syrup and butter. Or how about their golden brown French toast served with a side of berries. My personal favorite is their homemade cinnamon rolls, flaky pastry iced with a generous portion of cream cheese frosting…and this is sized to share! They will even slice it up, dip it, and cook it up to a golden brown for their very own cinnamon roll French toast. And if it’s lunch you are craving, their quarter-pound bacon cheeseburger is everything a cheeseburger should be, plus a generous helping of fresh and crispy French fries. All of this goodness is made fresh when you order it, so you get it piping hot. Jimmy and Jane Bryant began this restaurant with a vision of providing the Mid-South with most wonderful homemade biscuits and southern breakfast they could offer, a vision that still being carried on 51 years later by their children Kerri and Phil. You will find them working behind the counter along with the other 10 employees, and many of those employees have been there for well over 10 years. Bryant’s is open Wednesday thru Sunday from 5:30-2:00. They only accept cash at this time. Most days the line is out the door during peak breakfast hours, but it moves fast, is full of friendly people who love good food, and is well worth the wait.
